A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Dear Soroptimist Friends:

February is a LOVEly month when we’re reminded by Hallmark, florists, and candy
stores that our lives are enriched by our friendships and the LOVE that flows through our days. But we, as Soroptimists, don’t need a special month or day to remind us how important friendship is for we lead our daily lives based on our pledge of “Sincerity of Friendship”.

We are a group of 50 women from different backgrounds, with different styles of
doing things, and of different generations but there are two beliefs we all have in
common: 1.) the lives of women and girls worldwide need to improve and 2.) the best way of reaching that goal is by working together. And, of course, that leads us right back to the importance of the role of friendship in all of our Soroptimist activities.

Friendship needs time and nurturing to grow and stay healthy. With so many new
members, we need to work even harder at getting to know everyone. Let’s make this month of LOVE one of spreading the joy of friendship throughout our club.

Yours in the “Sincerity of Friendship”,
Sandy Reed,
President

“Friendship that flows from the heart cannot be frozen by
adversity, as the water that flows from the spring cannot
congeal in winter.”
- James Fenimore Cooper
