My Dear Sister Soroptimists:

It is with a heavy heart that I inform you of my departure from the area for a new position with King County as their Director of the Division of Parks & Recreation. It will be an interesting transition from this small town to the big City and Hattie & I will learn how to be “city girls” in no time.

I have thoroughly enjoyed working with this incredible organization and will never forget the sound of the Pledge of Allegiance in women’s voices – it always gave me patriotic Goose bumps!

I also love that whenever I type Soroptimist, my computer spell-check suggests – ‘so optimistic’ as the correction!

Please know that Soroptimist’s support of the Boys & Girls Club really makes a difference – and that the Club continues to save young people’s lives in our community. We recently closed the club for a day and took EVERYONE to the Pacific Science Center in Seattle. Six children from Sequim had never been across the Hood Canal Bridge or seen tall buildings – we opened a big new horizon for those children! Because we’re affordable we reach kids who really need support.

I will miss y’all – but will be close enough to visit. Thank you for letting me belong with you.

Sincerely,
Suzanne R. Little

Your personal eulogy and the lovely yellow rose ceremony were greatly appreciated by all. We know it would have meant so much to her.

Again, thank you so much from all the Lehman family!

Friendship

There's a miracle of Friendship
that dwells within the heart,
And you don't know how it happens
or where it gets its start...
But the happiness it brings you
always gives a special lift,
And you realize that Friendship
Is God's most perfect gift.
