Soroptimist International of Sequim is pleased to
announce that it is accepting applications for the The Violet Richardson
Award (formerly the YCA or Youth Citizenship Award). This award is named
for Violet Richardson, the first President of the first Soroptimist
club in 1921.
High School Students between the ages of 14 and 17 are eligible for the $250.00 cash award. The YCA award is a merit award and is not based on academic achievement. Students must demonstrate a commitment to improving the lives of others through dedicated, motivated and enthusiastic volunteer action. Efforts to benefit women and children are of particular interest to the judges of this award. Applications can be obtained from Mitzi Sanders at Sequim High School or at Cole’s Jewelry Store in Sequim.
