INTERNET COORDINATOR UPDATE

Dear Soroptimist Sisters:

At the District Meeting in October there was some exciting news! We can now enter Project Focus Reports directly online AND we can access focus reports of other clubs. What does that mean to us? We have a great opportunity to learn – and to teach – about projects and fundraisers done by clubs in our region.

There are many new tools available on our intranet. Once you’ve signed in, click on LIBRARY and you will see some new features.

Enter Program Focus Report Online – This is where we can enter our focus reports.

Search for a Project – This is where we can search for a focus report by club.

Presentations-Looking for that brilliant workshop or other presentation to show your club? – Have you ever heard a presentation and wished you had it available to share with the whole club? Now you can! Permission has been received from authors/creators of various presentations to give our members access to the information they have presented.

NWR Search Engine: Search for documents and presentations! – This will search all PDF files for a single word or phrase contained in the text of a document. All documents containing that word or phrase will be returned. This allows you to search all forms, newsletters, documents from committees and members for information that you are researching. (see sample screen below.)

The best construction company around, who has the best tools available, will not do an effective job if it doesn’t utilize those tools. We have a tremendous wealth of resources available to us on our NWR Website. I encourage you all to visit it often and get acquainted with what it offers. The site is being updated regularly. It has come a long way – but has a way to go. It is an on-going work in progress. Many of the improvements and additions have been made because of suggestions made by members who have used the site. Take the time to check it out and perhaps you will have a suggestion too.
